Happy 2010 and the launch of my new blog The Art of Dressage! I have had the desire to put together a website about an interesting topic for a long time. The past few months, I did some research on sites and even enrolled in a course in website design. I have discovered through my research that blogs are really cool! When I began, I didn’t even know what the term “blog” really meant. I had some family and coworkers go on a trip before and post a blog as a type of journal of their trip. That is the only exposure I have really had to blogs. I have learned blogs aren’t just a journal anymore they can be much, much, more. Although, my life is pretty darn entertaining and I’m sure plenty of that will be included too. Blogs are a great way to introduce topics of interest and provide information. The really neat thing about blogs is they provide two-way communication. Not only can I post information or an article, but also have great conversations with others on the posted topic. I feel learning can be maximized when you have more than one person involved. I know you know exactly what I am talking about. It is much more fun to take your buddies to audit a clinic and then it is to go by yourself . You have someone to talk to during (OK… you can’t be rude though) and after. It is always interesting to see how someone else perceives the information you just absorbed. They may have new and different ideas then you do. When you start to discuss you feel even more enlightened then just attending the clinic alone. Another reason to bring buddies to a clinic is they are great to snuggle up to when you are in a freezing indoor area. So everyone…guess what? It is winter… not the greatest time to ride, but a perfect time to snuggle up with some buddies and have some great conversations! I hope you enjoy my blog.
